Opel insignia radio / touch screen issue

Any help on this please.

2014 Opel Insignia , I went into a massive pothole driving last night, gave the car a big shudder , no damage to tyre or outside of car , but the radio cut out / electric shortage it seemed for a second or two , everything came back on except the radio / setting / sat nav panel display .

Radio is working fine / dashboard lights all working fine , just the display panel .

I left it overnight hoping it would resolve itself , started it up a while ago , blank screen

Any ideas of the issues /who could help with that ? A mechanic or auto electrician?

Brought it to my mechanic, tested all fuses, all fine, disconnected battery, left it for a while, no joy.

He plugged it into a fault reader, can see no issue, radio picking up as it should, i can still hear the radio/change channels/volume using the controls on the steering wheel and the manual buttons just underneath the digital monitor display, CD player works fine too. Just no touch screen display, faint light in the monitor when darkness comes

Any clues on how much cost to get a new screen fitted/where to go,or any other repair options ? Breakers yard i am guessing ,as don't want to spend massive bucks on a car approaching 10 years old, just annoying no touch screen now, looks to have blown.

Either the screen is gone or the touch panel in front of it - theres 2 separate parts it doesnt come as an assembly. Around 1k Id say for a screen from Opel and the touch panel is about the same. Theres something that rings a bell about not being able to use a scrap yard one - I think the immobiliser is run through the audio unit so a second hand one might not work.

Thank you for the reply and info , that’s that so , I won’t be shelling out that much for a replacement, will use the steering wheel controls/ manual buttons to change channels, just very annoying .

Very tempted to follow up with my county council over it , took pictures of the still unfilled crater in the road . Not sure if I’d get very far , normally it’s tyre damage they compensate for … if your lucky .

Sorry just realised its a 2014 - you`ll be ok to use a scrap yard sourced one.

Or even an android head unit - theres replacements out there that will fit the dash as a direct replacement.

10" one here - should be the same shape as your dash.

Thanks again for your help , mine is the 2014 SC model ( middle range one I think ).

I am hesitant to outlay that much on one from China incase it doesn’t work / fit .

I will see about sourcing one from a scrap yard somewhere/ my mechanic said he will ask around when he is picking up other bits too .
