Side gates and external insulation.

We’ve had external insulation fitted to the house amid a bigger retrofit but the builders have buggered off without making good the two side gates. Can anyone tell me what they’ve done when rehanging their side gates? We can hang them on the opposite wall but they still need to fasten to the house and I thought we were…

Can anyone tell me what they’ve done when rehanging their side gates? We can hang them on the opposite wall but they still need to fasten to the house and I thought we were supposed to avoid drilling into the insulation. Help!

Could you put in a post in the ground beside the house (close, but not touching), to either hang the gate or close up against.

There are fixings you can get for ewi. You could mount a post against the house and use that to bolt the gate too.
