P-pipe not fitting to existing waste pipe

I recently got a new sink waste connection(link below) as the one I had was leaking. I have it fitted but it will not fit the existing ppipe. When I turn on the water the part that meets the new connection leaks out water. This it because the existing pipe will not fit into the connection that I bought properly. Both sink waste connection and ppipe are 1 1/2 in size. Could it be that bought a fautly part, do I need to buy a new ppipe or has anyone else got any ideas.

I went bact to woodies and they where zero help. Plus the ppipes that they have don't fit it either.
