Hi all, thinking of buying house in new development Rowleys Lock, would anyone know if the waste water plant nearby has any bad smells coming from it?

It's temporarily closed at the moment. Also is there any history of flooding in the area?

Thanks so much if you have any feedback!

Before buying a house in the new development Rowleys Lock, it's crucial to inquire about potential issues. Regarding the wastewater plant, ask the developer or local authorities about any odor concerns, especially when it reopens. Additionally, check with local agencies for flood history and ensure proper drainage and flood mitigation measures are in place to address any potential flooding concerns. Conduct thorough research and gather all necessary information to make an informed decision.

    Hi Julia

Thanks for taking time to reply.

I've contacted some house insurers and cant seem to get an answer as to whether or not Rowleys Lock will have flood cover as part of policy.

Noone could tell me either if area has flooded in past or is on a flood plain?

Where best to ask these question? I did ask auctioneer but my concern was not treated seriously.

I'm thinking perhaps just knocking in to one of the estsblished houses nearby and asking.

If i get any relevant information I'll be sure to post in case other potential purchasers are interested.

Rowleys lock in navan is very high above the river Boyne. It’s on a sloping site to the river. Very hard to see how it could flood. It appears to be 17m higher in elevation to the Boyne

Thank you for that.... having lived through house flooding twice its one of my big fears....love the site but fearful of how close it is to river..... very kind to put my mind at ease.

IMO, juliafox sounds like an GPT bot. Maybe I’m wrong and it’s not bad advice but just sounds a bit odd.

Thanks, I have to agree.... though I probably should talk to the people who live in the area to have my questions answered.

Juluafox left me feeling as tho there's a lot to uncover!
