Has anyone won a prize of a photo shoot from a photography studio in Waterford?

Win a free shoot and a small framed picture, then if you want more they only sell them in the frame at extortionate prices.

You also have to travel down for the shoot, travel down to look at the pictures and travel down again to collect.

Lots of photography companies do this, no one is making you buy more prints (but you will once you see them!). No one is making you go, certainly not worth it if it's not somewhere close to your home.

Yes it's kind of freemium pricing where basic option is free (like free email) but they then try sell you on paid options.

Even wedding photographers often have a cheap basic plan knowing mother in law will want photos, aunty etc.

I bought all my wedding photos as a deal digitally with one paid album. They can spend a lot of time adjusting and cropping the photos to make them look well. On a recent family shoot they took the child's smiling face from one photo and photoshopped it onto another photo. The perfect family by Photoshop. !

Yea, they don't go through this until the shoot is finished or sell the digital copies.

Once I started looking into them I think they get most of the customers through raffle prizes.

At least most wedding photographers will give you the digital copies.

I could edit them myself if I had them.

We did this, and think we got it free with insurance. We knew their racket and didn't buy a thing, I would call it a scam as well. Sort of thing you see in other countries on tour groups.

The picture was rubbish, poor quality, and the frame worse than something you get in IKEA, a bunch of chancers.

This place was in Dalkey, a fancy place with a pompous staff member

I think I know the photographer you're speaking of. The small 5x7 framed photo is valued at €95 (must be a very expensive frame) or you can use the €95 towards a wall portrait. I can only imagine the cost of that if a 5x7 is €95!

My friend "won" a competition with them for a family portrait. She had a toddler who wasn't too keen on sitting for photos. She said the photographer was horrible, the whole experience was awful and stressful and she ended up leaving after a couple of photos and not even going back for her free €95 photo.

My teenager entered a competition in the local shopping centre, funnily enough she also "won". They contacted me about going in for the session. I remembered my friend's experience and said "no thanks".

Yea, I think that's they're main way to get business.

    It's robbery.

I'll put up a Google review and see how long it stays up
