    Great find!

    Ian sounds exactly the same today. His voice hasn’t really changed or aged at all.

    I remember those old jingles/imaging well too. Jim O’Neill doing the voiceovers. Far better than their current jingles imo.

    Is Ian's 6-7am hour prerecorded? I've never been up to listen since he got the 6am start awhile back.

    Lol I’d say the format of the show is still the same today too! I like Ian but I’m amazed he’s still doing mornings. He’ll be pushing 30 years on the same slot before too long.

    If you mean Today FM, he has a bit to go as he started presenting there in late September 1998. If you mean including 2FM, I think he has well passed the 30 year mark.

    Marty Whelan leaving RTE for Century in 1989 was big news, though Ian leaving RTE after 18 years and joining Today FM was the biggest high profile move for a "music DJ" in Ireland, certainly at the time in 1998 and a move like that has not really been experienced since.
