was just up in the nearby homebase. 10L tubs of interior matt PBW varied from €17 (cheapo crown option) to €49 for the dulux one; with the more expensive option in the crown range at €38.

for ceilings and walls, is there much or anything to choose between them? i would expect the cheap stuff to be thinner i guess.

a but thinner, but covering power as well (opacity) , also washability/resilience,

If its for base coats , not covering a tricky colour , or ceilings / or porous surfaces you prob wont go far wrong with the cheapo, but you usually get what you pay for ,

Read the back of the buckets side by side ,and guess, 😁

Good paint covers in one or two coats, cheap paint often takes three.

It's not as cheap as it might appear when the extra work and quantity are accounted for.

Would not buy cheap buckets again.

Generally you get what you pay for with paint.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?

I'd agree with @Shoog here. I bought cheap paint once and won't repeat the experiment. Definitely a false economy.
