F marking on street drain cover

There is a blue spared marking of the word F on the drain outside my house. What could that mean? I presume it was marked by the council?

A photo would help but off the top of my head I'd say it's possibly to indicate the location of a fire hydrant or could indicate a foul sewer.

It's a painted F on top of the drain cover.

My estate was surveyed recently to check locations of underground services. There were spray markings all over the pavements. Might be something similar?

Pretty sure it means it's a foul drain. There may be upcoming works and they're just marking out what is where.
