Thermostat Issue?

    Hey folks,

I'm having an issue with my heating kicking in downstairs.

The heat works fine for heating the water and upstairs is fine but if I just want to heat up downstairs it doens't kick in. I have to turn the thermostat down low so it goes off and then turn it back up and the heat will kick in then.

If I put the heat on for both upstairs and downstairs then it will work fine.

Issue just seems to be when I try to heat downstairs on it's own.

I'm attaching a picture of the thermostat just incase it helps. (Seems like just a generic one)

Any ideas how to resolve this or do I need a professional?

    Cheers!

Sounds like an end switch on a zone valve starting to go bad. Usual fix is to change the zone valve head.
