[Moved] Letting Agent Asking for Huge Fee to Amend the Lease

    Hi,

I'm moving to a new apartment with a friend. Friend's housemate is leaving out of the country so she needed someone to fill the spot. Her letting agent is asking me to pay 300€ as processing fee for amending the lease. If I won't pay, I won't get approved for occupancy. It screams swindling to me. What's the best way to handle the situation?

Pay it or don't get it.

Probably written in their t&c somewhere

In the good old days, that’d be around a month’s rent in a flatshare, and would be taking the pi55. These days…?

    Consider it a rounding error.
