Query about gas pipe in kitchen

We are hoping to get a dual fuel cooker, behind our current electric cooker I see this pipe sticking out. Can I assume it is a gas point, and will need some sort of connection to get it connected up to the new cooker if we buy one ?

I assume you've gas in the house - 😁
I'm a little surprised there isnt a small ,accessible lever valve , ( so you could turn off the gas to a cooker if it had a problem ..

Yeah we do have gas. I have never seen this type of connector and hence wanted to check.
One of the neighbours confirmed they have a gas cooker too.

If you get a plumber/gas fitter he'll tell you in 2 mins .. but its more than likely ..
