Fiber Glass or Spray Foam insulation?

Hi guys, I would like to canvass opinion on this if possible. I need to reinsulate the attic in my 1940's terraced house before the winter really kicks in. Someone told me that the fiber glass only lasts a few years and needs to be redone while the spray foam has more longevity?

There's been quite a few discussions in this forum about the use of spray foam. Do a quick search and you will see that the majority wouldn't touch it.
