    Hi all,

Looking for some advice. A elderly family member has received a CPO on their family home, it has been in the family for 3 generations but not been lived into for 10 years and has become derelict. We have put in a appeal with the council but we were looking on advise on what we can do on a practical level to have the CPO removed. Should we do up the house so it is no longer regarded as derelict? Should a family member move back into the house? How long do we have before a decision is finally made. The houses in a traditional country cottages, surround by our own land. We had no idea that the council would be able to do this. It was always the intention for the house to be inherited and lived in, but the arrival of the CPO will be focusing the mind regarding this. Once the house is seen as being no longer derelict will this cancel out the CPO. Any advise would be greatly appreciated as there is little information available on how to defend a case.

    Much thanks
