Walrus Booster Pump causing problems

Hoping someone can advise on my problem.

We live in a standard 3 bed house .

We have a combi boiler that runs the shower as well as the hot water taps .

The plumber who did the job originally fitted a 4 Bar Walrus Booster pump , and then fitted a pressure reducing valve .

The pump is working fine on cold water and if mixed hot and cold , but on hot water only its spluttering badly and nothing is coming out of the tap, if l barely turn the tap on a little bit its ok and hot water comes out .

A plumper suggested it was the flow coming out of the combi boiler wasn't enough but l got the heat exchanger checked and that was clear with no blockages .

I'm thinking that maybe the pressure reducing valve is faulty and that;s were the problem is ,because l turned the value up to about 3 1/2 bar of pressure to see more pressure would would help the pump , it didn't help , but when l turned the valve back down to 2 bar it seemed to fix the hot tap problem for a few days .

My next step buy a new identical pressure reducing valve and get a plumber to fit this in the hope it works .

Or just get someone to fit a 2 bar booster pump and take away the need for the pressure reducing valve .

Im not sure the pump is the problem tho because it works fine on cold or mixed water .

Am l wasting my time putting a new pressure reducing valve on is probably my question or could that be the problem ?

Hope this long winded post makes sense

Difficult to say, although that pump and a pressure reducing valve isn’t ideal for your application in my opinion.

A constant pressure pump like the DAB EsyBox mini would be a better job. The pressure can be set on the digital display and the pump ramps up and down to maintain the set point when water is being drawn off.
