Head lamps

Winter time is here again. Stumbling around the place with a lamp no better than a candle. Or worse a lamp that needs charging every day. Especially when you want it.

I know I should finish in the bright but has any one found a good head lamp that the charge lasts for hours

I have the older version of one of these, used to use it for caving and hillwalking. It's very bright on the highest setting. Got my brother one and he used to use it around the farm and on construction sites in winter and he found it great. Uses regular AA betteries.

Pros: light weight, comfortable, 3 different settings with white light and 2 settings with red light. Recharge via usb cable. Only back using it again. A charge usually lasts about 4 days, all depends on use and light setting. OH uses it going walking on these dark evenings.

Cons: it's a great job, nothing bad about the one I have.

I think I paid around €75 for mine and that was about 3 or 4 yrs ago.

My FIL has one from some unknown make which he reckons is a great job. Run by batteries and as big as a coal miners lighting kit that they would have on their helmet.

I find these excellent. Batteries seems to last fairly well between charges (but used sparingly really as it’s to supplement other lights). Great light of them and a handy stand.
