Hey, moved into a new home recently, just wondering what this thing does? Seems to make a loud whirring noise every 20 seconds or so or whenever the water is used.

OK thanks, what's it doing exactly, should it be making a whirring noise so frequently?

Difficult to say from here exactly what it is running. Whatever tap, bath or shower that you turn on if you hear the pump then the pump is connected to them. It will make a motor noise for as long as you run the water

It was going mental after flushing the toilet, seems the mechanism in the cistern is broken and its taking forever to refill in small drips. So the pump was just whirring loudly every five seconds. Driving us mental here. Filled cistern with a bucket just now and it's stopped. Guess I need to get the toilet fixed.
