Just passed a 13C going down the ninth lock road about 5:10 don't see anything about it on the timetable, seemed like it was in service with all nights on upstairs and down, anyone know what the story is with it and what it's route is as the normal 13 doesn't use the 9th lock road?

It would be one of the early morning “ghost” services (that’s the traditional term, not the more recent one referencing disappearing buses) that are not in the public timetable, take different routes to normal, but which operate to bring drivers into the garages, but some do carry normal passengers as well.

It would go via Conyngham Road en route to the city.

    (edited for grammar!)

We've ghost and phantom buses now..... great.

To confirm a ghost is a but that's supposed to be there and isn't, and a phantom is a bus that's not supposed to be there but is. Is that correct?

We've had ghosts for as long as we've had buses. It's really not new.

Ghost bus is a term that's been used for ages for buses that are scheduled and operate, but aren't widely announced to the public, as they mostly operate for staff purposes. It's my understanding that the current 7E services may have been ghost buses before.

The other way round - a ghost bus is there but isn't scheduled, a phantom bus should be there but doesn't turn up.
