WTD - Tubs

Looking for a set of tubs to replace a set that are perished having sat in the shed for a decade. Looking to resurrect the old TT bike for triathlons next year and the wheels are carbon rim tub yolks.

I did a quick google and hoping to find a lightly used set at a reasonable price. Can't justify bike tires that cost more than the ones on the car!

    Thanks

What size are you looking for. I have a few 23c's sitting in the attic!

Pretty sure I have 23s on there now. Probably totally uncool these days, but the extra few watts to be gained from fatter tires won't be my limiting factor!

So yeah, let me know and hopefully we can work something out. No rush though. Cheers

    Hey,

I thought I had more but only have a Conti Comp in 22mm and a Vittoria Rally in 23.Not sure what condition the comp is in tbh as I have it wrapped up as I carried it as a spare.

If you want any pointers towards what tubs to get fpr TT'ing just shout and I will depart some knowledge.

    Thanks Koutoubia,

Is the Vittoria rally a half decent tyre? If its ok and i can get a match for it somewhere i'd be interested if the price is right - no idea what the right price is though ;-)

Any advice you have for low budget half decent tubs would be great. Or pointers on what to look for. I have conti attack / force on them as far as I recall but the last time i looked at them they were cracked and perished.

And if anyone else has anything suitable please shout.

My experience with Vittoria Rally's they can last thousands of Kms or they can last 10 Kms .

Just not reliable which is a pity cause they are a nice tyre and cotton as well.

Contis perish over time so not worth having if planning on putting on and leaving on for a decent length of time.

Depending on your price point have a look at Challenge Strada. A really nice tyre. Fast enough and comfy. I find the 25's roll nicely at 85-90 psi. They age well as they are a decent cotton tyre. Same for Veloflex Pro Tour and Pro Tour race. The race version being a very fast tyre but seems to have given up a bit of puncture protection for the speed.
