Direct drive turbo trainer - zwift hub the best option?

As we come into winter, I am looking to get into indoor training.

I got a lend of a friend's wheel on trainer last year and made good use of it, but feel that direct drive is the way forward.

Budget is €600 (or less if possible!) Is the zwift hub yer only man in this regard?

€600 for it which includes a year's sub for zwift....

I appreciate any input.

Just on your budget, will have loads of free trials vouchers for various apps but you'll have to buy a cassette if you don't have a spare

I have one and it's decent enough to ride, power is accurate any time I compared to my assiomas, whether it's better than the zwift hub is for the OP to decide, but that's a decent price

I've had a Direto for around 4 years now. In that time, it has shat three drive belts and the bearings are a) graunchy and b) difficult to replace.

It's great when its running well but when it eventually dies, I won't buy another Direto.

Wahoo Kickr Core would be worth a look too. The original Wahoo Kickr (maybe v5) was on sale very cheaply recently, maybe Wiggle

Thanks, V5 still appears on sale on wiggle but can't get delivery to ROI unfortunately.

The Kickr Core is widely available @ €599 now so within your budget. I have used it for the last 3 years and it's great. Think there is bundle where you can get it wih a years Zwift membership.

Kickr Core available here for 556. Irish shop so delivery should be ok (have never used)

I thinks it’s 600 direct from Wahoo but with a year zwift membership (edit - it’s 700 with Wahoo)

Thanks all for the input.

I went with the kickr core from adrenaline sports that was linked a few messages back.

They fitted the cassette for me, and so far it is all working well
