I see some non motor trade company based at Carton House seemed to be the importer but there is not much talk about them here .Paddy Connolly 4x4 have a commercial version for sale ( priced POA) , I saw it in their yard and it looks similar to the previous Defender in the flesh ( or more like the Santana Defender copies ) . Going by uk reviews it seems to have alot of the flaws of the original Defender but with the high price of the current Defender . I think buying an original Defender and having it customised to be more comfortable and powerful makes more sense.

Orangeworks Automotive. The reason for low sales so far is there was a delay with revenue affecting the retail price of the car as far as I know.

not sure its best type of company to be selling vehicles

Seems sales in the UK are 60% below targets and prices are bombing at auction. Doesn't bode well

as said it seems to be a vehicle with all the flaws and character of the old Defender and with price of new Defender , i wasnt impressed by it at PC 4X4 but then i was never a Defender fan .

the fact that Jim Radcliffe is a brexiteer but builds the Grenadier in France says alot

orange automotive finally have vehicles advertised on carzone but the std 5 seater passenger has €2400 road tax !! these vehicles are not competitive in the market in the UK and are even less so here .

The fieldmaster crew cab pick up looks better than stationwagon and at least will have €333 road tax but its price will make it a very expensive crew cab compared to others in market ( they dont list crew cab on carzone ) .

vehicle was supposed to be much more competitively priced when launched but that was before covid.

Absolute heaps. There are a few dozen lying up in the Country un-regged, being minded by Orangeworks, no move on them at all.

The damn things are going to be >3,000kg wet and loaded, so there's a good chance the pedaller will need a C1 to drive it routinely.

Probably all be shipped back to the UK before ever making an impact in the market.

I don't know why anyone in that market just wouldn't buy a Land Cruiser or a Hilux, its the only logical choice.

karl goodwin have an ex uk crew cab and Paddy Connolly 4x4 have a new commercial version , dont know why they got an events company to distribute them .

Fact that new or late model G wagons are struggling to sell here pri

  • alot of the posts on here are the typical anecdotal untrustworthy replies we see from some of the post count hero’s.

No doubt an expensive beast but i don’t think it’s target market is your typical road user. I found this owners review contradictory to what’s posted here

Brexity twats moving their production offshore is the norm - see Dyson.

They love the term "brexiteer" as it implies some glory. There isn't any glory in destroying your country financially for personal financial gain.

Saw one in the wild this morning (241KY3xx)

Well, by in the wild I mean in commuter traffic on a dry morning on the M4, where it looked absolutely daft with a snorkel on the side and ladder on the back

hope they arent paying €2400 road tax , new and late used G wagons seem to be struggling to sell - would say even those with money cant justify paying that much to drive a 4x4

I'd buy one for the switchgear alone. (if I was very very wealthy)

I assure you they aren't paying 2400 road tax as we don't pay road tax in Ireland

As for Motor Tax, I'd suggest most of these are taxed as N1 and at the 333 goods rate

The weather will turn bad sometime, and the ladder and snorkel will be essential, it's just good forward planning 🥴
