Replacing crank - over my head!

Hi! I need to replace a right crank arm (Shimano Tiagra) but can't find the exact one anywhere (it is pretty old) - can I swap it out with a different one?

Pic below is what I have and the 2nd pic is one that looks sort of similar on ebay. Same length but that's all I know.

In over my head here, don't want to buy something that ends up being more junk in the shed ;-)

From a very quick look your fc2350 crank is for a square taper bottom bracket, the one you've linked to is for a hollowtech BB so won't work, I'd suggest a visit to a reputable bike shop, there will be specialist tools involved in taking yours apart.

Might be difficult to find a like-for-like replacement at this stage as your crank is quite old.

And as above, you might be mixing bottom bracket standards which aren’t compatible.

Could you post a photo of the BB area of the bike and it may be easier to advise 👍

There's a right side on ebay. I'd imagine any square taper crankset will do the job provided it's matches double/triple. Keep an eye out for free bikes on adverts etc you might find something.

You can also helicoil the crank if you were having no joy finding a replacement and just fancied a bit of messing about. 🤣

Aside from the threads being gone, I'm pretty sure his crank is snapped in half unless I am seeing wrong in the picture.

Ebay or Amazon for an 8 speed double chainset, or you could get a triple in decathlon (30euro)but there will be higher wear on the chain (although not enough to be concerned IMO).

@Gumbyman2000 do you have a crank puller tool?
