Planned escalation of industrial action in local authorities deferred

Is it time to brand Forsa a national security threat?

Fórsa had accused local authority management of failing to engage meaningfully with the union on the establishment of a job evaluation scheme for workers in the sector.

Job evaluation assesses if a job's grade is properly matched to its duties and responsibilities.

So more promos for less work?

Is it time to brand Forsa a national security threat?

So employees via their union (Fórsa) have a dispute with their employer about procedural issues relating to the assessment of fair renumeration across different job roles (which local authorities in Britain and most EU countries engage in), discussions break down, the union commences industrial action consisting of refusing to engage in communication with elected representatives (not a strike or not talking to the public, co-workers or any other bodies), and announce a future plan to increase this to a 24 hour email ban, followed by a 48 hour phone call ban. Before the email and phonemail bans come into effect, the employer' representative (LGMA) and the union agree to return to discussions in the Workplace Relations Commission, and the escalations are called off.

I don't work in a local authority or the public sector, but to a neutral observer, this is all very standard and reasonable industrial relations behaviour, entirely conducted under a legal framework.

Yet you somehow think that it makes Fórsa a "national security threat". Like terrorists who kill people or wantonly destroy property for political ends would be.

Do you completely over-react to everything, or is this just a particular hobby-horse of yours that makes you react irrationally?
