Intranational Debit Card Withdrawal limit

My Indian colleagues are in Ireland and their cash withdrawal limit (visa debit card) per day is approx 1100 euros/day. But in Ireland, the ATM machine allowed them to cash out only 600 euros a day. There is obviously high transaction fees attached to per transaction and they are wondering if they could withdraw 1000 euros…

Their debit card is from India and they have no accounts in Ireland. Any thoughts on this?

You mention a 'local' branch of AIB - what's to stop one of those colleagues going into the branch and asking? The bank official can swipe the card and quickly answer the question.
