Hi,

Lights not working on an old tractor I have with a while.

can see behind the light switch that 2 wires have no home to go to (orange stars). Should they be plugged into the light switch, and where?

anyone got any pictures they can send me of how theres are connected? its an old david brown

Most likely wires made redundant by previous repairs. You cold get a complete loom from tractorelectrics.ie

Here is the switch wiring.

You seem to have a wire connected for each position except the horn. If you have no lights at all check the feed wire pin 30 and any fuses.

Hi Again,

on to the indicators - everything else working.

Anyone know the wiring diagram of this original Indicator rotary switch? Do I just bring a live to "L", then a wire from each "L" & "R" to the indicator bulbs ? what are L54, 54I& R54 for??

Live through a flasher relay to 49a.

Then just L and R to left/right indicators. That is all you need...............

Other pins I believe are for dashboard indicator lamps, middle one may be an earth if switch has a built in lamp which yours doesn't seem to have but probably there so it can be a direct replacement.

Edit: without built in indicator lamp on switch 54I may be for a single dash indicator lamp for left and right, you should be able to confirm that simply with a continuity test using any multimeter.

Thanks emaherx. so is there not an inbuilt flasher unit on my switch? i assumed there was. I might be better off just go and buy something like this then?

I don't think there is. But it would be real easy to test...

Just connect up as you have described and if it lights solid with no flash just put a flasher unit in the line. Going with the switch with in-built flasher is another option not sure you'd be much better off but certainly not any worse off either.
