Piano teachers / pianists advice ?!

I started learning piano as an adult about 10 yrs ago. I got to grade 5, did that exam and did quite poor in it, and got turned off and finished up. I finished also for other reasons mainly lack of time. In grades 1 - 4 I did well. I've recently started playing again for enjoyment, I'm very rusty and I wouldn't be naturally very gifted at piano but I would really love to go back and continue with the grades. My question is would I be wasting my time if I'm not naturally gifted and I got a poor grade 5 result?? The poor result was also down to a challenging year of my life.
