Need to replace a mira elite 2 shower. It has stopped heating water.

It is a relatively new house. I was planning just to replace with similar shower with same footprint.

Any idea if the mira elite se is the same?

Or do I need an electrician...

It should be a direct swap.

it’s a DIY job if handy with your hands if not it’s a plumber/electrician too do it.

    1-2hrs max work

Brilliant. Looks to be around 250 for a new one. Presume wiring is the same. So just a matter of turning off water and electricity and maybe draining cold water tank (or closing it off)

Issue with getting an electrician these days is none of them are interested in this work around here.

The mira Elite 2 went out of production in 2006 so the house is close to 20 years old.

The mira Elite SE is a direct replacement. Yes you will need an electrician

If it is a direct replacement, why do I need an electrician?

If it a case of turning off electricity, disconnecting 3 wires and then connecting them in same way in new mira.

Same footprint to shower and same water supply layout.

Yes turn of valve on water supply too old shower.

turn off electrical supply too shower.

open shower and disconnect wires going too unit.

    disconnect water supply too unit.

reconnect both wires and water supply (just be careful with water supply you don’t want too cross tread).

open water supply and check for leaks.

open electricity and power on unit.

job should be done in less than an hour.

if unsure photograph everything before your disconnect anything.

    Perfect. All sounds doable.

FYI, it's illegal for anyone but an electrician to work on bathroom electrics.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Okay good to know. All work will be completed by a qualified electrician.

For my own knowledge I was just wondering how this is going to be carried out.
