    Hi Folks

I'm going to be away from my apartment for 4 weeks soon. I believe it is good policy to turn off the water at the mains if you are away for that long. However I have a water softener. I'm not 100% sure how it works, it was installed and I was told it would work away without a need to go near it. Apart from adding salt when needed. I've never heard it go through a flush mode or anything like that. Would it be safe/OK to turn off the water or best to leave it alone because of the water softener?

    Thanks.
