Fault in Cello Freeview TV - Possible external Battery Failure

    Hi guys

I was watching American Dad on ITV2 HD on this Cello Freeview TV. I was watching it through my Triax TSC 114 combi box. The TV itself was going fine right up until Midnight and then the screen on it went black. It had a flickering red standby light flashing on it after the screen went black. I also had a look at the wires at the back of the TV. I noticed that there was a green light flashing on the battery plug that provided the main power to the TV as well.

What could be the issue here. Is the TV model that I have here in the house gone completely dead. Or does the power supply for it need to be replaced ASAP.

Model in question here - Cello C24ANSMT 24'' Freeview T2 Android Smart TV.

I had bought this TV in D.I.D. Electrical in Stillorgan back in 2018. Should I give them a call in the morning to try and ask what is wrong with this device?

My Triax combi box still appears to be good though. It was a showing a blue light which meant that it appeared to be working normally.

I turned off the Triax box as a precaution to prevent further damage to the device

I can't walk up to the shop on Friday because there is going to be heavy rain at that time. I won't be able to go up there until Saturday at the latest.

I just want to give you an update on what happened today.

I rang DID Electrical in Stillorgan this morning. The sales rep who was on the phone with me gave me a phone number for a TV repairman in Dublin. The TV repair man came over to the house for a brief call up at lunchtime. He did an electrical check on the TV to have a look if the positive and negative charge coming from the mains which includes the battery and the plug on it. The positive and negative charge on it was still giving a normal reading of 12 volts. He did say that the TV had a surge protector inside it which apparently prevented damage to the device. He said that it will take one or two days to repair it. He did charge me a callout fee of €35 which had to be paid to him immediately. He also said there would be extra fees due from me if any repairs were done on the TV set between now and the weekend.

I am not sure if the Triax combi box may have the main reason why the TV went a little bit haywire with the screen going suddenly black on it last night.

I have issues with it when attempting to retune or add TV channels to the Combi box via the satellite installation menu.

Here are some of the issues observed from it

I press a blue button on the Triax remote control and it leads to the main screen of the Smart TV function of the TV set. It happens when I press it to add channels to an existing transponder or a while doing a blind scan of the satellite channels on the box itself. If I press a green button on it; it turns off the TV automatically and I have to turn it back on again using the TV remote control. When I press the i button on it to the description of the programme on it; that button takes me to the analogue tuner with the channel name but with a blank screen.

Could that be a cause of huge concern for me at this point if I had tried to use that box in future?

I have tried on a few occasions to reset and retune both the box and the TV with no luck in fixing the issues with the Triax box.

I have been reading up some stuff online about products having a power surge if they are not compatible with one another if they are hooked to an electrical socket in the house. Could one of those devices be actively trying to cancel each other when they are both connected to a plug socket in the house? If I being honest with everyone reading this post; it's a very unusual and potentially very dangerous situation to be in at the moment.

The TV repair man took the TV away to repair it earlier today. I didn't ask him to take a look and the Triax box to take with him for potential repairs. I still have the Triax box in the house at the moment. Will I ring him now on the phone back to get a fuller picture of this situation or will I ring him in the morning?
