I want to replace an old boiler with a combi, Some plumbers told me the water pressure is not good enough, while some other plumbers said it's OK.

The house is by Kevin Street Upper, close to St Patrick's Cathedral

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Risky - mains pressure can vary.

You can pump a combi from an attic storage tank and that really is the way to go.

Which brand of boiler are you buying?

A combi without a pump will not work right, you need the pump. The water pressure is too variable.

Best practice is feed the combi from the cold water tank. Install a pump on cold coming out of the tank & the feed to the boiler. This will give you equal pressure. Most thermostatic valves require equal pressure on hot and cold. Any existing power shower like triton as2000xt, Mira event, Aqualisa Aquastream etc will repair pressure reducing valves

There is an awful lot of combi’s installed directly from the mains in this country and in fairness most of them work reasonably well.

But it’s a risk, it doesn’t meet building regulations, and I wouldn’t encourage anyone to do it.

I fitted an Ideal Logic 30 combi a few years ago, best thing I ever did in relation to showering and heating. simple controls and the best remote heating controls I've used ever, highly recommended. I have 12 - 14 litres a minute at the mains and it's been flawless. If needs be I'll pump from a tank in the attic but for now all is good. Endless hot water showers, wonderful.

Mod note. I've deleted the link.

If anybody needs a link to the Ideal controls I'm sure that Back Home will be happy to pm it to you.
