A comment on that article alluded to a covid opinion!

Hardly. GB FM wouldn't have the budget to pull any of that trio out of bed, never mind all 3!

Presenters on that station have a habit of disappearing suddenly without explanation. This is at least the 2nd or 3rd time that "Mollie" himself has quit. They also lost another daytime presenter last year out of the blue. I've heard more than once that its not the happiest of work environments in there...

Although GBFM wouldn't be the best example of good local radio in Ireland, it provides a far superior local service to the equivalent station in the England, including BBC local radio stations which have also been destroyed recently

Mid West Radio in neighbouring Mayo, is a far superior, dedicated local radio station and every programme is presented live from 7 am until closedown at 1 and sometimes 2 am ........7 Days a week.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but it is extremely focused on the local culture, listeners and requests.

That's why it gets a huge listenership in Galway, Sligo, Roscommon and Leitrim.

GB sounds a mess...but it has huge potential for an internationally well known city !!

I would also mention Ocean FM in Sligo too as being a mess !!

GBFM must make decisions based on focus groups or something, The Keith Finnegan show was called "The Keith Finnegan show" for years, then it called it's name to "Galway Talks" only to change back to "The Keith Finnegan show" but has now changed back again to "Galway Talks" 🥺
