hi folks,i have just lost my mum,so i know what most of you are going through,her wish was for cremation and laid to rest with our dad,,...question is do we need permission to bury the ashes in our family plot?thanks

Based on a couple of links below, burial in the family plot sounds fine.

Assuming your family plot is in a cemetery or churchyard, you'll need the permission of the cemetery operators/church. They may impose conditions, such as the payment of a fee, or a requirement that their staff do or check the work involved, or they may not.

Cemetery operators keep a register of whose remains they hold and where, so they'll need you to supply details for that. They may want sight of your mother's death certificate.

This is very routine stuff for cemetery operators, so it won't be a bid drama.
