Soldering service in North County Dublin?

Hi all,

I need to replace a PCB in a turntable. I have the part but I need someone to de-solder the five existing wires that are connected to it and solder the same five wires to the new PCB.

Does anyone know of a service in North County Dublin that can do this? I tried Artur Electronics in Balbriggan but they were useless

Not immediately useful to you - but look out for the repair cafes - bonus is they are free.

Ill post here next one I see - there was a few on this year at various locations around Dublin - one last weekend at Dublin maker - there was one earlier in summer in Blanch library where they say they will have another....

Actually good thread. Il piggy back on this. I've a pad that slightly lifted on my backup Motorcycle helmet headset.

It's a sena unit not inexpensive but it's the back up unit. Would like to get the pad sorted. Used to be a superb solderer back in my early electronics days but my skills are way out of date.

Anyone know where could get this type of thing sorted. Don't want to bin it really if it's at all salvageable. Been sitting in a drawer like this for a few years.

water damage is tricky to fix permanently as the corrosion can break or just weaken in many places - the usual fix for broken traces means soldering a small wire to replace the broken trace - but here it looks like there is something that needs to get connect close to contact the other pads - so you would have be careful to be sure the new solder and wire will not cause the two connectors to not join anymore. You also need to allow for some coating (conformal coating - a varnish) put over the new wires to protect it from future water....

You could use copper tape - but it wouldnt ever be as good or long lasting as those, probably, gold plated contacts.

If you could find a replacment connector part, if they break often they might be available as spares - that would be best fix...

Sorry for the late reply. I need to replace the PCB in the pic below so the 5 tiny wires need to be de-soldered from the existed board and soldered onto the new board
