Hi
I am trying to get an ASHP installed alongside my wood stove. Not many installers are willing to quote or are interested in a custom plan like this. I have unlimited fire-wood so that is important part of the plan, but also want ASHP to level out spikes/dips in heating. I have a 300L thermal store tank and this has worked great for the last winter. but an ASHP would be more efficient for hot water in the summer when we dont have the fire lit.
We have retrofitted triple glazing and external insulation, and also put UFH downstairs, and we have a few rads upstairs. I would love to hear some feedback on this proposed plan.
