Was the plane crash in which Nigel Farage almost died an attempted assassination?

There is no reason to think so.

The plane was towing a UKIP banner. Per the Air Accidents Investigation Branch report, this caught in the tailplane, pulling the elevator down, which cause the plane to descend. The pilot maintained some control and crash-landed the plane. The problem was caused by the failure of the pilot to pick up the banner cleanly. Both the pilot and Farage were injured in the crash.

Not even Farage has ever claimed this was an assassination attempt, and as we know he is a bit of a drama queen. He did claim that a road accident he had in France in October 2015 was the result of his car being tampered with, when in fact it was caused by shoddy repair work to his car. He later acknowledged that the claim was a mistake.

I've always referred that as the "not quite **** enough" pilot.

The only way we'd know whether it was true or not is if Farage claims that it is, then we'll know it definitely isn't.

    Most certainly not.

The banner wrapped around and interfered with the aircraft.

If it was an attempted assassination, you can be as confident as need be that Farage would have brought it up at the time, or since.

Yeah looks like it was normal accident. As youse say he'd be milking it if he thought there was any other possibility.
