    Hi all

I’m been on the look out for a while for an upgrade…

I’ve narrowed down my search to two 2019 cars in the same garage in Galway..

    kia optima 1.6 CRDi ISG3

Peugeot 508 1.5 Blue GT line

Both diesel engines, it will be the main car l, I live near the motorway and will commute on it a fair bit each week

both cars have similar low mileage and there’s a 3 K difference towards the 508

I drove the Kia last week and will drive the 508 this week.

I looked at the interior and the 508 looks nice but the gear stick is bugging me, it looks flimsy but il know more when I drive it…

any ideas or advice on what to go for ?

does anyone have any issues or heard of many with the above ?

The new 508's are a fine car, had one on hire for 3 weeks during the summer.

Don’t know much about the optima but I think average is how they would be described

the interior was ok, the controls and screens looks a little dated for a 2019. Driving it was surprisingly nice.

the 508 looks better for sure, il be test driving it hopefully Monday or Tuesday.

was just wondering if anyone had issues or comments(good or bad) to add from experience

Think the Kia will still have a few years manufacturers warranty on it still. They give 7 years I think, might want to double check that though. If they do then knowing you still have 3 yrs warranty left would be a good bonus.

Look at the Ford Mondeo, the Skoda Octavia and even the Skoda Superb too @OP.

508 all day long. A different league and much more up to date. Kia generally reliable though but the Optima is bland and outclassed now.
