    I haven't ridden the trails down there but in general blue trails anywhere should be fine for a complete novice. I see plenty of lads on Strava doing sections of blue trails around Ballinastoe on gravel bikes so you should be able to follow him on a lot of it .. should ..

    If the blue trails in the Slieve Blooms are the same as the ones in 'stoe (same trail builders), then they'll be no issue. A middle aged bloke who didn't have the head or skills for MTB can get around the stoe blue trails on his gravel bike no issue. Enough to put an MTB somewhere on the n+x list!
