Tax Revenue if you live abroad and work for Irish company

    Hi,

My friend was resident in 2021 and 2022 in Spain but he was working for Irish company in 2021 and till end of April 2022nwhen the same company changed his contract to Spanish.

He sent application for tax revenue for both years which they resolved only for 2021, but he didn't say he was resident in Spain except he only said that his working contract changed fro May to Spanish when he applying this year for 2022 tax revenue.

Now the Revenue is asking him to tell them when he left Ireland. He is supposing that the answer will contribute to the resolving 2022, and he thinks that also probably 2021 will change as he was resident in Spain and Revenue didn't know that.

Now, he paid to Spanish tax revenue a lot of money, because Spain has much more tax rate than Ireland.

For 2021 he paid 3000€ and for 2022 800€ because they calculated that based on Spain bigger taxes he owns Spain tax revenue the money.

So do you know if he can have back tax revenue from Ireland because of lower rates and what will happen, how this works, meaning if his answer will change things being a resident in Spain for 2021 and end of April 2022 when he worked for Irish company?
