Any recommendations of what to use for bare bricks around stove in sitting room. Want to paint black.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I am sure that most, low VOC paints would be okay but in my case I had a large pot of matt black stove paint left over. I sealed the brickwork with an evostick/water wash as my particular bricks had a bit of a "crumbly" texture and then whacked on two coats of stove paint.

That was four years ago and it looks as good today as it did the day it went up. Did the hearth too.

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message, however a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Good point using the watered-down PVA glue here as a stabiliser.
