    Hi,

Was hoping someone could advise me briefly.

Charities are not ussually vat registered nor are they required to register for VAT at least to my knowledge and they utilse their specific charity number for all business related documents. During the course of operations a charity sells a product to raise funds to the charity in your local supervalue or spar. If the charity was a regular business, this product is liable for VAT that must be paid and collected by the seller and customer(end user). Does this still apply for charities? Are they exempt or would they also need to register for VAT?

    Thanks,
