Options for what can be done with a domestic septic tank percolation area

    Just looking at the regs (code of practice ) here

    and the minimum percolation area is say 8 by 20 [18 + 2] by 8 or 13 by 14 for a 6 pipe distribution system.

    This excludes the additional areas required for minimum distances from boundary (3m)/road (4m etc ) page 29 of the above

    Minimum cover to top of the drainage channels is 300mm, so looks like you could only let it out in grass

    If cover became 500 mm and the geotextile membrane covered the whole area, rather than just the trenches, ( page 35) then maybe it could be planted with small shrubs etc.

    Any thoughts?
