What areas in Dublin 14 are best to buy a house, 4 bed (let's leave the budget out of the decision for now) for a young family? Could you also give a bit of insight into why you like these areas? Will be trying to narrow down areas over the next few weeks and would really appreciate some local wisdom. Thanks.

Windy Arbour. Relatively (strong emphasis on relatively) cheap houses available, beside the Luas, Dundrum within walking distance, quiet given its location.

Thanks Yakov, appreciate the response. What are the facilities like in the area (pubs, shops, restaurants, cafes, schools, community feel) do you know?

Not too much in Windy Arbour itself, but there is the nice Portuguese place and a good indian. Plus you are very near to Milltown, Clonskeagh and Dundrum.
