Hi. I have a Huawei F2000 Eir router and it is connected via ethernet to my PC. IT's giving me an address of 86.43.206.32 and I get connection refused when I try to connect to the default gateway. Has anyone see this before? I thought it was supposed to give a standard 192.168.x.x address for the LAN?

I'm actually trying to troubleshoot an issue with my TP-Link WiFi router (don't use WiFi on the Eir because it doesn't cover the house) but it seems to be ok when not connected to the Eir router so am thinking the problem may lie with it??

    Any suggestions appreciated.

That is public IP you get if you connected to Eir router and router is in bridge mode, i think this is normal. If TP is configured correctly this is where you should be connecting all your home network devices and you would get 192.168.xxx.xxx. Nothing else(*) should be on F2000 as in bridge mode it has no firewall.

    Leave F2000 alone.

What is the problem with TP?

The TP keeps rebooting itself, no info in logs. And a reset didn't help. Very strange but it could be just faulty :(

"no info in the logs" = likely device does not even have time to log - perhaps sudden power cut...

If avail, try different power socket/different power adapter(need to match V and A rating, plug). Other than that - replace TP

If intend to replace with same model - export config, will save time setting-up new
