Hey everyone! The timing belt in my 2009 Passat cc is noisy at the moment and the mechanic has said it will need to be replaced soon so looking for advice on how much it should cost? I have had a few bad experiences with mechanics over charging in the past so want to make sure it doesn't happen again! Any advice appreciated!

Did the mechanic give you any info on what was making it noisy?

For context on proving, I recently paid €530 for timing belt, water pump, and coolant change from Skoda main dealer on Octavia 2.0 TDI.

What did your mechanic quote for the job?
