Can saline act to change the nature of a chemical or weaken it, if used in place of purified water?

This molecule:

Is has an acetate base.

Mixed with purified water presumably means it just forms a solution as intended.

Mixed with saline (0.9% sodium chloride), could the sodium-chloride react with the acetate to precipitate sodium-acetate, and that could impact or effect the nature/potency of the molecule?

Any chemists among us?

I'm presuming you meant an acetate counter-anion? Yes, introducing NaCl into this should have some sort of effect - take a look at the Hofmeister series to get an understanding of what could happen here regarding precipitation. Want to name the molecule above so we can give you some more detail?

Some users have mentioned noticing a white precipitate when re-constituting these using saline vs purified water.

Whether it would effect the integrity of the actual molecule isn't clear.

Oh man, this looks like a good read. Never came across compound before. I'd expect that the solubility of the compound drops in saline solution - which could be expected. You could be right, it could be a sodium acetate precipitate either though. I'll have a read.
