Been course fishing for years, but never tried pier, rock etc and looking for an idea what to look for and what I should be paying

Its something that I can chuck in the car for holidays etc, not everyday use. My son is 20 so we are getting around a lot more for trips

Any advice would be really good

    thanks

Standard 9ft spinning rod be grand.

Above is fine for spinning lures, baited feathers, ledgers on the bottom baited for flatfish etc.

Use 20lb breaking strain and you will be on the way to enjoying yourself with your son.

A travel rod (telescopic or 4 - 6 piece) could be your answer to have in the car and take up hardly any space.

€60 - €80 would see you and the son on the water.

Look for spinning rod combo deals that includes reel
