Cassette vs free standing stove

I'm planning on putting a small (5-6Kw) stove into a house. The room is ~ 3.5 x 4.8m so not huge, by may be extended in a few years. The chimney is a traditional council terrace house where 4 chimneys are back to back , 2 in neighbour and 2 in mine. That's to say, there does not seem to be a lot or room in the chimney

My wife wants a free standing stove but the guy who called out yesterday, strongly suggested that it was calling for a cassette stove as it took up much less space in the room, considering the stove will probably not fit into the fireplace.

I've heard a bit of grumbling about cassette stoves, that they are less effective or heat goes into the wall etc. I'm looking for comments about this aspect?

I'd prefer the cassette stove myself, but I'll need some good arguments to convince my wife!

    I have both types installed.

Cassette stove is cleaner, but u need the fan assisted version, uses power.

The free standing stoves give more heat. Jotul or Morso.
