Light car scratches

    Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help please? I've tried a few ideas...but to no avail.

About 2 years ago, I bought a car. Last year I gave it a good washing. However, after the damage was done, I realised I used a rather not perfectly clean..and a little abrasive....micro fibre cloth. After the job was done and if I look close, I can see little scratches all over the body and on the windscreen.

However, the scratches on the windscreen are particularly noticeable when the sun shines. So I tried to remove the scratches with glass polish and cordless drill with soft polishing pads...but to no avail....I used toothpaste but, again, to no avail.

The other night, for the body, I used a bit of t-cut and microfiber cloth. It seemed to help a few scratches on the door but didn't make them dissappear 100%.

Now, in using the t-cut, I sp3nt about 2 minutes rubbing the stuff into the scratch in a circular motion. Should I spend longer?

There is a small scratch, on the door, that is white....so I don't think it goes down to the paint but it's deep enough that if I run my nail over it, the nail will catch the scratch. Can I remove this scratch myself.

As for the windscreen, some of the scratches are deep enough to fail the fingernail test. What should I do here?

But, even the ones that passed the test aren't disappearing with the polish and polishing pad.

Any help on this is really really appreciated as I'm completely lost as yo what to do. Thanks.

    D
