TV repair - now TV is broken

Hi all, dropped in a TV for repair, four year old samsumg, some LED's had gone so there was dark shaded areas on the screen, so during the repair they broke the screen and tv is now a write off, they rang to tell and i said what are they going to do for me now and there was silence, he said it had never happened before but there was no more he could do. I asked him to check with his insurer to see what can be done so he agreed and said he would call me back, what should i be expecting in this scenario, should they be replacing my TV for me?

So he broke your tv and what’s you to make a claim against your home insurance which could cost you more next year.

thanks for the response, i don't think he will try wriggle out of it i'd say he was probably just caught on the hop as he said it hadn't happened before, well hopefully anyway

no i asked him to talk to his insurer, he made no mention of my insurance

ah yea, sh1t happens when trying to fix such things, i hear sets are very tricky to repair these days, but spade a spade, firm but fair approach, no need to take the p1ss looking for a higher model or anything, the chap is trying to run a business after all, but this is up to him to replace, this shouldnt cost you in anyway

Just to close out, he did replace the tv with a comparable model
