Jesus this horse racing forum on here is dead. There are a few of us from the old thread elsewhere, anyway one for today

6f Coral Stewards' Cup (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+)

    GOODWOOD 3.35 SPAINISH STAR 2pts e/w 25/1 POWERS PAYING 6 PLACES

There is a lot of rain to hit the course tomorrow and while I would usually stay away from 8 yr olds in sprints SPAINISH STAR is just too big at 25/1 tomorrow. Lets have a close look at the geldings GOODWOOD form.

    Lifetime form on grass 4233/4454232497/121345781D3/364323210/332223164310/23733410-612154

    Lifetime allweather form 3886274

Goodwood form all distances / all goings 1173131244

Goodwood form 6f on good to soft or soft 111

So with the word soft in the description over 6f SPAINISH STAR is unbeaten at Goodwood however before you go running for the wheelbarrow there are some negatives

    1. He is running off the highest rating he has ever run off (very hard thing to do at 8yr old)

    2. The biggest field he has raced in was 12 runners

    3. Trainer is 1 winner from 7 runners last 10 days

However as I said about MAN OF EDEN horses either like this course or they don’t act here and at 25/1 paying 6 places his previous form at the course makes him a 14s/16s chance

the going is now predicted to be soft to heavy

SPAINISH STAR won a heavy C5 by 4and 1/2L....I know huge jump from class 5 to class 2 but every little helps

SPANISH STAR cruised along and was soon in control after being asked to master the leader. This was a first win since June 2019, but did meet trouble on the AW last time and does go well when the mud's flying. He's well capable of holding his form.
