price on fixing up old house

    Hi, So we recently went sale agreed on a house it needs some work, and after the survey was complete i was informed of what i would need to do, a good bit of work but nothing crazy mainly the roof. then i got a builder in and he gave me his quote, lets just say i got a bit of a fright, have a look, what do you reckon he seemed like he knew what he was on about and more or less said the surveyor didn't know what he was talking about which may be correct. see list below.

    Any suggestions on how to cut costs cheers.
